Rule of Thumb to Internet Marketing

By: Vlad Ehrsam

The method to the "madness" of Internet marketing is confusing to most of us. If you're Internet savvy, you share the belief that "Internet websites must be filled with keyword enriched content". This isn't necessarily correct. Internet content needs to flow properly, make sense, and read easily; not consist of staggered keywords. Content is THE KEY!

Writing a lot of articles to help sell our products or services is not something that many of us have time to do. Some of us, however, just plain do not have what it takes to write quality articles.

Never try to fix what is not broken. Rather, use these four ideas to help liven up your Internet marketing copy.

One: Humorous Quotes are Always a Good Idea

Try crafting a web page geared towards famous and amusing quotes. This is an often missed method for attracting visitors to websites. You can use books already out there to help you such as: "Great Quotes from Great Leaders" by Peggy Anderson. Or, try typing some popular quotes into search engines and this will lead you straight to sites filled with great quotes to use.

Finding the perfect quotes takes some effort so be sure to make some time to finding them. You can either copy and paste them to your website or, if you have the means to do so, pay someone to do it for you but be sure there is a link to your website somewhere on the page.

2. Internet Articles

Online copyright laws are seldom enforced. You are free to copy text, rewrite, re-print, distribute, and sell the material you find. Investing in a copyright website is too expensive for most small businesses. But in the end, "you" win. It's easier to research a topic, gather the information, and rewrite the material, than shoot straight from your hip.

Never resort to "stealing" material as it is both unethical and illegal but there is nothing wrong with using material as a resource.

3. Use Directory Pages

The directory of information available on the Internet has contributed greatly to its popularity. People are always trying to find information on home improvement, self- improvement, recipes and all kinds of products or services. Every time they click on a link they get that much closer to what they are searching for. You would probably generate more traffic than you could imagine by adding a directory page to your site.

Including a directory means that your site is up there next to the search engine directories. Your site is also more likely to be added as a bookmark so people are likely to pay a return visit. Naturally, it would not do for you to lead surfers away from your own site. That is why you want to add links to sites that are not in competition with you and this will in turn increase traffic.

4. Free Content

The BIGGEST TIME SAVER you can use is "other people's material". Stop wasting valuable time writing, when thousands of writers are begging you to use their articles and e-books. With online directories, it is easy to find authors that want to help you market your website. Internet authors are there to assist you, providing that you give credit where credit is due. Check out www.arciticlecity ..com for example. Sharing links or adding a credit link works.

You'll end up with a fully functional website, in less time without the headaches. Content is very important, as is keywords. Why struggle with writing it, when lightning fast content is at your fingertips. All you need to do is look for it.
