Hair removal by Flashlamp or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) as it is also known, is where a non-coherent light source is used, instead of a coherent one, as in laser hair removal. The dangerous wavelengths are filtered out, leaving only the ones up near the infra-red end of the spectrum. The shape of the dot of light is usually square, whereas for laser treatment the light is a round dot. This is about the only difference between flashlamp, and laser treatment.
This is one of the treatments I have never used, so I can't say anything about how this treatment feels, or the results archived from personal experience.
