Tweezing is a method of hair removal that consists of pulling out one, or at best a few hairs at a time using metal forceps, or tweezers. This process is painful, and can cause damage to the skin in the form of pitting or scarring. When the hairs are removed using this process, the hair is removed by the root, and several weeks of hair free skin is the result. When the hair does grow back, sometimes it grows back as an ingrowing hair.
Tweezing can be difficult to do on your own, as it may require the use of a mirror. Most people get used to this, with practice and manage very well on there own. Care must be taken however, if the hairs are being removed to shape an area. If the wrong hairs are removed, then the area can look wrong, and it will be several weeks before the hair regrows to rectify the mistake. Tweezing is also very time consuming if used on large areas, and others methods are recommended for these areas.
